On Friday 6th December 2013, St Damian's Surgery will be closing at 6pm.
For anything urgent, please call the Health Centre, Bradford on Avon on 01225 860018.
We please ask you NEVER to give out your card details over the phone.
A patient has recently been contacted by someone claiming to be from our Surgery. The caller stated that the patient's prescription was ready for collection and could be delivered if credit/debit payment details were provided.
The practice will never ask you for your card details over the phone.
If you experience any similar requests or have concerns that you may have been targeted, please contact the police via Action Fraud 0300 123 2040.

NHS 111 is a new service which has been introduced to make it easier for you to access local NHS healthcare services in England.
You can call 111 when you need medical help fast but it's not a 999 emergency.

Stop Norovirus Spreading This Winter
Norovirus, sometimes known as the 'Winter Vomiting Bug' is the most common bug in the UK.
Patients are advised not to visit A&E or GPs with symptoms as this may spread the virus.

Leg Club Update
The Friends of Bradford on Avon Community Health Care (Registered Charity No. 289242) is sponsoring the new Bradford on Avon Leg Club, which plans to open 10am to 1pm every Thursday at Wiltshire Heights Care Home from the 6th February 2014.
The Leg Club is for patients of the surgery who have leg problems and need; assessments, treatments, dopplers, hosiery measurements and general advice about keeping legs healthy. This free service is drop-in and refreshments will be available. The Leg Club is based on the awar winning model founded by former district nurse, Mrs Ellie Lindsay. Child flu vaccination!
If your child is 2 or 3 years old on 1st September 2013, they are entitled to receive the flu vaccination, via a nasal spray up each nostril.
Children of other ages with long term health conditions are already offered an annual flu vaccination.

NEW for 2013!
If you are aged 70 or 79 as at 1st September 2013, you are entitled to receive the shingles vaccine (which can be given at the same time as your flu vaccination)
However, if you are aged 70 or 79 after 1st September 2013 OR if you are currently aged 71-78, you will not be entitled this year, but will be in subsequent years.
Eligibility has been defined in this way because of the limited supply of vaccine this year.

Health Visitor Clinic
Joanne Rudd-Lindsay, Health Visitor for Bradford-on-Avon, runs a clinic every Monday morning at the Health Centre.
This service is offered for parents and their children under 5 years old who haven't started school yet. Joanne can help with a range of concerning issues such as breastfeeding, temper tantrums/behaviour problems, speech and language, growth, and diet issues to name but a few.
