Dear Patients

Bradford-on-Avon Health Centre merged with St Margaret’s Surgery in July 2011.

This was done to improve services for the patients of the town and to enable the doctors of Bradford-on-Avon to speak with one voice when negotiating for services for the town.

We have lost our community hospital with many associated services and we are determined to resist any further reduction of services in the town. We are keen to set up new and innovative schemes – recent examples have been vascular screening and psoriasis clinics.

All acute medical care in Bradford-on-Avon is done at the Health Centre, the premises at St Margaret’s surgery being used for clinics and administrative functions.

Winsley Health Centre opened 5 years ago and is a very popular dispensing surgery for the surrounding villages. We also service Avon Park Care village from this surgery offering 2 surgeries a week at the village for local residents.

We are committed to teaching and training new GPs and have been recognised as a centre of excellence enabling us to accommodate registrars of a very high calibre.

St Damian’s surgery in Melksham is also part of our Partnership and we are looking to move it from its current premises at Melksham hospital. We will be re-branding the surgery as Melksham Health Centre and will be looking to expand the services offered to Melksham patients.

We live in exciting and changing times in the NHS. The Partners of the Bradford-on-Avon and Melksham Health Partnership are committed to providing the highest standard of care for our local population.

We hope you enjoy browsing through our website – please let us know if you have any comments about it, or any of the services we offer.

Dr Nigel Gough
